Let’s get acquainted.
Occupational Therapy & Biofeedback
Taylor Rahe, OTD, OTR/L
Dr. Taylor Rahe grew up 30 miles outside of New York City in Westchester, NY. She is a three-time graduate from Quinnipiac University where she studied occupational therapy. Dr. Rahe has robust clinical experience across a variety of settings including chronic disease management, physical rehabilitation, sensory integration, and neurocognitive rehabilitation. During her first year as a clinician, she quickly found the traditional medical model to be inefficient in restoring true quality of life.
“People are so much more than what just happened to them, what their diagnosis is. In fact, we rarely find true restoration in terms and health and quality of life when we are only focused on the diagnosis or symptoms. I’m much more interested in how your diagnosis or symptoms are impacting your ability to engage in your life. To the same tune, my interventions are focused on restoring function in these activities NOT just treating the diagnosis”
With this in mind, she was inspired to return to school and obtain her post professional doctorate, feeling called to leave an impact on the modern healthcare system exceeding beyond her work as a clinician.
Dr. Rahe has a unique understanding of true health and wellness which serves as a foundational principle in her approach to care. Addressing emotional, behavioral and physical needs, she believes we are only in good health when we are able to engage in meaningful activities that provide us with a sense of fulfillment. Through her work, Dr. Rahe aims to promote purpose and meaning, regardless of diagnosis, across the lifespan.
As passionate as they come, Dr. Rahe continues to advocate for her profession and her patients through her research, conference presentations, guest lectures and work as an adjunct professor. Outside of the office, Dr. Rahe enjoys curling up with a thrilling book, popping on a record and spending time with her husband and (most importantly) beloved pets, Roxy and Susie.
